The Steelers have a huge game this Sunday . This is no doubt the biggest game of the season so far. A win puts the victor in the drivers seat for the division title. The stakes are high and it couldn't come against a more despised opponent , the Baltimore Ravens.
Its funny every Sunday you turn on your TV and watch the preview shows talk about what NFL teams have done in the past and how team A, beat team B 6 out of the last 10 meetings .We all get caught up in it,but it really means very little. Its just history.
In the NFL things change week by week ,heck sometimes quarter by quarter. The teams personal, coaches, weather,even the playing surface can change from week to week. We fans in Steeler Nation should know this best. Think about how the starting lineup for the Steelers has changed just since the Steelers played the Ravens last. We have a different QB, a lot of the offensive line has changed, defensive line and we even have a new kicker .
The point I'm trying to make is that the time is now. The Steelers have to seize the moment Sunday night . The Team that comes to play , plays more physical,wants it more and makes the least mistakes wins Sunday night .
Yea I would love to go on about how the Steelers lead the series against the Ravens 16-10 overall or how in 2008 the Steelers beat the Ravens 3 straight times on their way to their 6th Super Bowl title including the AFC title game,or how Roethlisberger is 7-2 as a starter against the Ravens, with both losses occurring in 2006. He is 162 of 287 for 2,104 yards, 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 10 career game against them .
I could go on about how the Steelers have won just about every meaningful game of true importance in the past and how the Ravens defense gets a lot of hype and may still be good but rarely has been better then the Steelers in the past decade.
I could but , hmmm ... ahh ... I won't go there .I'll leave that to the talking heads on Sunday night T.V. To get caught up in because it truly means little.
The time is now for the Steelers . They must seize the moment Sunday night ,that's what true champions do.
We must remember the past ,even celebrate it ,but never live in it . The time is now Steeler Nation! Seize the moment! Every day!
