Grades and thoughts on the Steeler win against the Browns

Offense ….B+

What can you say about Ben Roethlisberger's performance . After an early interception and a little nerves ,he came back to throw 3 Tds going 16 of 27 for 257 and just the one interception. He had a QB rating of 112.7 . He had
the occasional miss fire but that should be expected in his first action of the season. Over all he had a very good day. Hines Ward and Heath Miller had their usual workman like day each getting a Td catch along with Mike Wallace who led the team in yards receiving with 90 and had a Td catch of his own. Rookie wr Emmanuel Sanders had two key grabs for 37 yards and looks like the real deal . Rashard Mendenhall had another Td rushing and had 27 carries for 84 yards. The offensive line was good not giving up a single sack to the Browns all day
Defense .... B

The Defense had 5 sacks ,two interceptions ,one fumble recovery and held the Browns to only 10 total points . Lawrence Timmons was again a tackling machine with 11 tackles ,2 sacks and an interception .James Harrison also had 11 tackles and 1.5 sacks 1 forced fumble and he knocked wr Josh Cribbs and wr Mohamed Massaquoi out of the game. Ryan Clark also had an Interception . I thought the Steelers Dbs gave up a little too much space to the Browns wideouts but it was nothing major in the final results of the game .Overall the Defense played another hard hitting game.

Special Teams … B

The special teams played a pretty good game . Punter Dan Sepulveda punted for an average of 42.8 and Jeff Reed made all of his extra points. The coverage teams played well not giving up any returns for Tds which was helped by the lost of Cribbs. Stevenson Sylvester had another good tackle on special teams and looks to be an ace at it .

So there are my grades and thoughts on the Steeler's win over the Browns and remember to spread the word about this Blog.
