Steeler Nation , it's time to move on to week 2 and not a minute too soon. The Steelers will play the Seattle Seahawks in the Steeler's home opener at Heinz Field.
The Seattle Seahawks are 0-1 after losing last week to the San Francisco 49ers 33-17. Seattle's quarterback will be Tarvaris Jackson. Jackson and the Seahawks only had 219 yards total offense and 17 points . Their leading rusher was running back Marshawn Lynch who had 13 carries for 33 yards and only averaged 2.5 yards a carry. This Seattle offense is not very potent to say the least.
The Steeler's defense should be able to rebound strong against this offense. The Seahawks offensive line is very young and inexperienced . The Steelers defensive line and linebackers should dominate.
On defense the Seahawks played pretty well last week only giving up a total of 209 in total yards. The question here is was Seattle's defense that good? Or was the 49er's offense that bad? Either way the Steeler's offense must play much better than they did against the ravens. Roethlisberger and the Steelers offense must not turn the ball over and make every drive count .
The offensive line needs to get on track and it will be interesting to see how rookie Marcus Gilbert fills in at right tackle for Willie Colon. Colon was lost for the season due to injury. Look for the Steelers to try and run early until Gilbert gets settled in . The Steeler's offense should be able to score often with the weapons they have.
Seattle's special teams was a weak spot last week ,giving up a touchdown return on a kickoff and another on a punt return. The Steeler's returner WR Antonio Brown could be in for a big day.
Over all the Steelers should have no problem beating this Seattle team .I look for the Steelers to play with great intensity and tenacity. The Steelers are at home and wanting to show people that last week's game was not a sign of things to come.Look for the Steelers to rebound big time taking their anger out on the Seahalks and winning in their home opener by double digits.
