If you had to explain the true definition of what a Pittsburgh Steeler is to a totally unknowing person , you need only show a highlight reel of wide receiver Hines Ward's accomplishments, on and off the field.
Hines Ward is all about hard work, blood, sweat , and tears. He exudes a winning toughness , a relentless drive ,and tenacity to do his best at what ever he does, no matter what the odds may be. He approaches the game with a never ending passion and zest and plays with the heart of a true champion.
Never count Hines Ward out. The bigger the stage or moment, the brighter he shines. He's a four time Pro Bowler ,Two time Super Bowl champion and a Super Bowl XL MVP. Ward owns virtually all of the the Steeler's receiving records His accomplishments of greatness do not end on the football field but only begin.

The Helping Hands Foundation mission is to provide educational programs to help children build confidence and maintain a work ethic that will provide them the tools to succeed in life. Ward's foundation has a Korean branch abroad in honor of his mother . Ward also was born in Korea. The Helping Hands Foundation Korea helps biracial kids of Korea and targets biracial discrimination .
Ward has donated 1 million of his own money to the foundation and has made visits to Korea speaking out and already has made a great impact against the country's discriminatory practices . As you can read on his foundation web site Ward is considered by many to be the world's "Ambassador of Hope" to children of all walks of life.
Ward was also appointed a member of President Barack Obama's Asian American and Pacific Islanders advisory commission by President Obama in 2010.
Ward just won Dancing With the Stars and its no surprise to Steeler Nation . The rest of America just got to see a glimpse of what we knew all along . Congratulations Hines Ward ,your a winner on and off the field. You are fierce competitor with the heart of a champion but even a better person. You are the definition of a Pittsburgh Steeler. Keep making Steeler Nation proud!

Good stuff, Ward is the face of the franchise and it's going to be weird watching the team when he retires. I think you'll be impressed with this year's rookie class as well, I've talked to a few of them and they're all very grounded, very respectful of the history they're walking into and very humble.
